I’ve got to tell you, I’ve been waiting for this ever since rumors started to swirl a few months back. Today RED announced a new camera system that should completely revolutionize the film/tv/photography industries. The DSMC (Digital Still and Motion Camera) system, it utilizes a completely modular design allowing the user to not only customize the system to suit their needs, but also replace/upgrade pieces as they are released, needed, or as funds are available.

Looks like we may be on the verge of yet another strike in TV land aka Hollywood. SAG seems to have brought a large list of unreasonable demands for their contract renewal negotiations. The negotiations have been taking place for the past 2 weeks and have a few days more via an extension that was issued. The way I understand it, SAG is not interested in using the contract framework created from the recent WGA and directors guild contracts…which seems pretty greedy silly to me. SAG’s contract is up on June 30 and negotiations have gone no where…
Will this be the end for new TV/Movies for a while…?
SAG please rethink this, there’s no reason that being an actor entitles you to anymore money than writers or directors, etc…everyone has an equal part in producing quality production.
…end rant.
